For this series I reproduced details from famous artworks which are already in a global, collective imaginary. I reproduced the faded and blocky pattern found in old art encyclopedia's prints. This type of low resolution printing pattern are the main stylistic filter for studying art history in cultural peripheries without access to the portrayed masterpieces. This filter of distance ends up creating a visual and ideological experience for the audiences who learn art through them. Looking at art at a distance, or by the constant filter of the print or the pixel, begets a visual and cultural identity of its own.
