Net/Lab
Net-lab was a creative laboratory on social media. Having a physical location and three meetings a week for over two months, a group of visual artists, photographers, architects, designers, and filmmakers, gathered to think about how to assemble a digital exhibition based on Facebook and Instagram.
We had talks by professional social media marketing experts regarding the strategies and methodologies to harness virality, and the collective effort of the group circled around assembling an exhibition that could be read and understood as a cohesive art show, even if diffused through different channels at different moments.
The show (or at least part of it) ended up being seen by 1’943.273 people across 27 countries, with 314,510 engagements combined across posts. The access to realtime statistics of post interaction, served as a source of inspiration and feedback for the artists, letting them reinforce the type of works that generated better engagement, or just measuring the receptivity that an off-script experiment may have.
